Crabs In a Bucket
Thoughts from the Blue Side
By Master L
I had a conversation with a friend recently who was reflecting on the negativity he was seeing on social media. I said off hand “crabs in a bucket”. Not realizing he was unfamiliar with the term.
If you place crabs in a bucket, some of the crabs will inevitably try to climb out. However, as one tries to escape the other crabs will typically drag the escapee back down into the bucket. Crabs never support one another and they never help others succeed.
As a Martial Artists, we practice physical self defense constantly, but it is often times our mind which receives the most attacks. The problem with social media these days is that far too many people have become confident and comfortable disrespecting and insulting people, with no consequence.
Watch out for crabs in your life. You are responsible for for defending your joy and harmony in this world, and to realize lifes full potential you must turn your back on the crabs.
