New Era is an amazing place to be. Not only do you get to learn martial arts but you also get grow, in every area of life. Your mind becomes sharper, your body becomes stronger, and your overall character becomes better! The support received and the guidance of instructors has changed me completely and I know it can do the same for everyone.

My son have ADHD/ ANXIETY and he just began with NEW ERA about 2 months ago. My son it's a shy boy but since he have started coming here he is a lil' more open. And when he goes there and comes back out all excited I love to see him smile and to me that's means they doing a great job in their classes.

My son joined New Era Martial Arts in 2012 and got his black belt in 2018. He enjoyed each and every class, on his 6 year Journey from White belt to Black belt. Its not an easy task to keep a kid motivated for 6 years but Joe and Deshi do such an excellent job that my son Faraz even after 6 years enjoys each class. One of the best decisions we made and Faraz has benefitted immensely by joining New Era.

Idea of candidate classes where kids are made to achieve their goals while working as a team with both Juniors and Adults, in my opinion is the most valuable opportunity. Prepares them to set high goals and work hard.
Thanks to Joe and Deshi for excellent work.

Crabs In a Bucket

Thoughts from the Blue Side

By Master L

I had a conversation with a friend recently who was reflecting on the negativity he was seeing on social media.   I said off hand “crabs in a bucket”.  Not realizing he was unfamiliar with the term.

If you place crabs in a bucket, some of the crabs will inevitably try to climb out.  However, as one tries to escape the other crabs will typically drag the escapee back down into the bucket.   Crabs never support one another and they never help others succeed.

As a Martial Artists, we practice physical self defense constantly, but it is often times our mind which receives the most attacks.  The problem with social media these days is that far too many people have become confident and comfortable disrespecting and insulting people, with no consequence.

Watch out for crabs in your life.  You are responsible for for defending your joy and harmony in this world, and to realize lifes full potential you must turn your back on the crabs.
